ABOUT DAVID

David K Boone, a fourth generation native Texan, has served the Dallas community for more than twenty-five years. David twice served as Chair of Stewardship for Saint Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. He volunteered as soccer and basketball coach for seven seasons. David also mentored children at O.M. Roberts elementary, and sponsored and conducted other school and community events. David has welcomed these opportunities to give back to his community.

 In the Vietnam era David served our country in Naval Operations. His duties included engineering officer of a submarine and executive officer of a surface ship. David received several commendations for his service among which is an Award of Performance for insuring a 100 percent efficiency level. It was the only such award ever given to a ship of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet.

During his business career David has always been a high producer and trusted advisor. His accounts at Champion International increased in volume and profitability during a period of economic down turn. At 3M he introduced a number of new products, many of which are home and business items today. He has accepted appointments by the Texas and United States District Courts to serve as a Receiver to facilitate effective asset management and conflict resolution. He has provided valuable consultation to both the executive boards of the Dallas Bar Association and the Austin Bar Association.

David has authored two books on team building and management reflecting his experience with Fortune 100 companies such as Dell, 7-Eleven, General Electric, B.F. Goodrich, and 3M. He served a key role in developing the partnership of Auto One Finance with G.E. Capital. As an independent businessman David has owned and operated a large retail home furnishing store and was one of the first to protect the environment by manufacturing non-asbestos flooring for both commercial and home use.

David appreciates the advice he receives from those who have many years of experience in politics. David thanks Will Hartnett and Pete Sessions for their willingness to mentor his efforts and asks for their continuing consultation. And David is grateful for the efforts of many others to assist him in understanding the politics of office and candidacy.

David earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas Tech University and a Master of Science in mathematics and statistics from the University of Texas at Dallas. He values education and its role in the success of the nation, the State of Texas, and our local communities.

David and his wife Missy are active in church, community, school, and the Dallas Arts. Missy is a Managing Director at J.P. Morgan Chase. Their daughters attended schools in the District 114. Lauren is a senior at ESD and Dawn graduated from Ursuline and also attended public school.
